Community Meeting Hosted by Chairman Mark Jerrell

Plus, meet your new County Manager Mike Bryant and Park & Recreation Director, Nick Walker – both will provide remarks.

Community Meeting Hosted by Arthur Griffin, County Commissioner At Large
Arthur Griffin, County Commissioner at Large, and members of the Davidson Board of Commissioners invite interested members of the public to this Community Meeting. The meeting's featured topic is County Veterans' Services. Doors open at 5:30pm. The meeting will be from 6:00 - 7:00pm and include presentations. Meeting objectives include informing residents about services provided by the County and our partner Veterans Bridge Home.

"A Conversation with the Commissioner" Community Meeting hosted by Commissioner Susan Rodriguez-McDowell
Mecklenburg County Commissioner Susan Rodriguez-McDowell, District 6, invites the public to attend a community meeting on Thursday, October 9 from 6:00PM - 7:45PM (doors open at 5:30PM). The meeting will feature "A Conversation with the Commissioner". She will share and provide an overview of handouts from Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) and present an additional view on information for residents to consider regarding the 1-cent sales tax referendum. Interested residents are encouraged to RSVP to this site no later than Wednesday, October 8. All are welcome!

Catherine M. Wilson Center Celebration
Please join us to celebrate the renaming of 301 Billingsley Road in honor of Catherine M. Wilson, the first African American program administrator at the Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services. The celebration will be Saturday, September 27th at 10:30 a.m.
Wilson joined the Department of Social Services in 1947, retiring after 37 years of service to the residents of Mecklenburg County. Her tenure was marked by her humble leadership, wealth of knowledge, and unwavering dedication to clients. The Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners approved the renaming in honor of Wilson in October 2024. During this ceremony, we will honor Wilson’s legacy and her enduring impact on the residents of Mecklenburg County. Light refreshments will be served.

District 6 Community Meeting: "The Whole Story on the Transit Tax" hosted by Commissioner Susan Rodriguez-McDowell
Mecklenburg County Commissioner Susan Rodriguez-McDowell, District 6, invites the public to this community meeting on Thursday, September 25 from 6:00PM - 7:45PM (doors open at 5:30PM). The meeting will feature a presentation from Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS), a panel of community stakeholders who will present differing views and include information for residents to consider regarding the 1-cent sales tax referendum.
